Packing for Your Hawaii Vacation

If you are taking a vacation and going somewhere relaxing and tropical, then Hawaii might be your choice of destination. Hawaii vacations are great fun and you and your entire family will have a great time there. You could be going to Hawaii for a spring break vacation, for a wedding, for a business function, or just to relax with your loved one. Here are some ideas of what you can pack for your trip.

Clothes: When you are packing clothes, it can be easy to go overboard with the shorts and strappy tops. Instead you should also be practical and think about the possibility of cool weather and rain. Don’t forget to include a warm jacket and pants, as well as extra socks. For the beach remember to pack a swimming suit and beach towel – and don’t forget to include some sun screen.

Activities: You will likely be out and about mostly during your vacation because Hawaii has a lot for you to see. However, at times the weather can be inclement, and a few games and books will likely be useful at some time. The children can easily get bored on long drives or when stuck indoors, so a traveling computer game or two might come in handy. It’s also good to cool down after a morning swim and a good book is always useful when lying and relaxing with a Mai Tai or Blue Hawaii.

Camera: Don’t forget your camera. This is an important item as you’ll want to take photos of all the great places you visit. You can also enjoy taking videos if you have a video camera. Also make sure you take some back up batteries, and of course more than one memory card.

Travelers Checks: Something not really related to Hawaii, but important none the less, are traveler’s checks. You should take this everywhere you go instead of cash. This way you can control your spending, but you can also make sure you are safe. The worst thing that could happen is if you lose your wallet or purse on while on vacation.

Fishing: Hawaii consists of 19 islands and atolls, every one of them teaming with fish and other marine life. If there is one thing it can offer you it is plenty fishing (big fish and small fish) and plenty reef diving. You can hire fishing and diving equipment there, but most people prefer their own, so make sure that you pack your rods and other equipment, and any diving equipment you will need such as your scuba gear and wet suit, or masks and snorkels.

That is by no means a full list of what people take on their Hawaiian vacations of course, and you will obviously have more, such as the insect repellant and antihistamine, so make a list so that you won’t leave anything out when packing. Don’t forget to pack the tickets and your passport if you need one or at least some form of ID. And, then bon voyage and Aloha!
