Tour Idea #1:  Delmar Historic Sites – Delmar, Delaware.  Wonder where the “real” Mason-Dixon Line is located?  It’s right here in Delmar (at least the marker is.)  The Mason-Dixon Line is a demarcation line between the four state of Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware and West Virginia.  It was surveyed between 1763 and 1767 to resolve a border dispute between British Colonies in Colonial America.  It is symbolically used as a cultural boundary between the North and the South.

As well as the traditional Delaware tourist attractions, there will be a variety of other fun activities to experience and do.  Do you enjoy camping when you were a child?  You can fish and have an outdoor fun adventure.  Situated within just a short distance, you can enjoy a variety of attractions and natural wonders. Explore the native beauty of the state and enjoy the outdoors.  Whether it is exploring the nature trails or swimming or camping, there are activities for everyone. Here are just a few of the things you can discover, for more ideas, watch this Delaware attractions video.

Tour Idea #2:  Overfalls Lightship – Lewes, Delaware. This is one of 17 remaining lightships in the United States and it is located in Lewes, Delaware.  The Overfalls (LV118) has been restored by a group of volunteers to keep this piece of history alive for all to see.  It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  The volunteers dedicated over 10,000 hours to get it in the pristine condition it is now, although the hull needs to be repaired when the funds have been raised to remove the ship from the water for this work.

Balancing the quirky attractions with the general historical attractions will create a memorable group vacation getaway.  To create the best of your family vacation getaway, you may desire to consider one of the many vacation packages or tours.  Many vacation packages bundle transporation, lodging, and auto rentals  or provide a educational tour.  Some packages include sports or museum passes, so you can choose packages interesting to everyone.  If you are fascinated in history and heritage, there are many cultural and heritage attractions, along with museums of all kinds of themes.

Everyone can save money by following online tour guides. Most guides will summarize the various attractions.  Quality guides will share more detail than simply a brief snippet or sentence. Take your adventure and discover everything about your Delaware vacations.  Enjoy your vacation escape and experience the opportunity to make family memories that will last a lifetime.
