Do I need to rent an suv on Molokai, or would a regular car be fine?
ssgomezz asked:
We will be on Molokai for a week. I read somewhere that there are roads that can only be accessed by 4-wheel drive. But where do these roads go and will my trip feel incomplete if I can’t access them? We will save a little money renting just a regular car, hence my question.

Invest in the 4wheel drive. You will not be disappointed. Most roads/beaches out of the way are full of huge pot holes. Need something high and able to get through or around them. We went last year and had just a car… we tore it up trying to get to some spots. The spots we missed was a green sand beach and a lot of the black sand beaches. We saw one and it was beautiful. Also, we wanted to go down into a valley and there was no way to make it if you didn’t have a 4 wheel drive… we ended up taking a tour and the tour cost more for that one time then it would have if we would have rented the 4 wheel drive for a week
