How far between the west side of Molokai and Sandy Beach on Oahu?

It’s about 28 nautical miles. There’s an annual race from Molokai to Oahu that the top racers in the world compete in. It’s a committing enough of a crossing that each racer is required to have their own escort boat in case something goes wrong.
