Should we hike or take the mule ride on Molokai?

biz_martee asked:

My wife and I are going to be on the island of Molokai and want to visit the park at Kalaupapa. We understand that to reach the park we will either need to hike the cliff, or take the mule ride. We’re kind of cheap so we’re wondering how rough the hike is, because we’re trying to avoid having to shell out $175 each for the mule ride.

Just how difficult is the hike?

    Molokai

The hike will absolutely be worth it. $175 a person is crazy. Most people are lazy, however, and would be willing to fork it over. I vote for the hike. I don’t think you’ll regret it.
